Media products & distribution: turning expertise into media

The organization, the market, the moment.
Paid media can buy attention for a moment. Media properties earn it repeatedly — and they come with partners who bring their own audiences. At Mighty Oaks, the founders’ and alumni’s stories were powerful enough to carry films, books, and programs; the work was building the ecosystem that got them made, distributed, and connected back to the mission.

The root problem
“Credible expertise is a media asset hiding in plain sight. The question isn’t whether to make content — it’s which formats earn distribution partners who bring their own audiences.”Michael Cameron
The system
Film
Executive produced two award-winning documentaries and negotiated distribution with major national streaming platforms.
Broadcast
Negotiated a landmark partnership with Salem Media Group — the nation’s largest Christian radio network — launching nationally syndicated radio and podcast programming.
Publishing
Launched multiple national bestselling books, reaching the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times lists.
Streaming programs
Developed nationally syndicated programs across streaming platforms.
Owned audience at the center
Every property routed viewers, listeners, and readers back to web, email, and CRM — where the relationship could continue.
Who had to align — and the tradeoffs.
Media deals are negotiations among people with different incentives: distributors want audience, talent wants their story told well, and the organization needs the work to serve its mission. I negotiated with streaming distributors, a national broadcast network, and publishing partners, and aligned founders and alumni — the authors, hosts, and subjects — with production partners, rights, and legal.
What was built.
What followed.
Reach figures reflect partner-reported audience for the syndicated programming. Titles, trailers, and distribution pages will be added as rights are confirmed.

Reflection
Distribution is the real creative brief. Once you know who will carry a piece of media — and why — you know what it has to be.
My role and collaborators
Executive producer on the two documentaries; negotiated the Salem Media Group partnership and streaming distribution; led launch marketing for the books. The authors, hosts, directors, and production partners created the works themselves.
