Michael Cameron · Chief Marketing & Communications Executive

Michael Cameron is a Chief Marketing and Communications Executive with 24+ years building brands, audiences, and revenue across Hollywood studios, a global consumer brand, and a nationally scaled mission-driven organization.

As Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Mighty Oaks Foundation since 2018, he has led the organization’s growth from $1.5M to more than $9M in annual revenue — building a content-led growth system that expanded its owned audience by more than 10,000 percent, launched nationally syndicated radio and podcast programming through a partnership with Salem Media Group, produced two award-winning documentaries, and took multiple books onto national bestseller lists.

Before that, he worked at the intersection of Hollywood and digital media, leading agency-side digital and social campaigns for Warner Bros., Lionsgate, Summit Entertainment, Relativity Media, and Tyler Perry Studios on releases including Man of Steel, The Hunger Games, and The Hangover Part III. At Stone Brewing Co., he led digital strategy for a $167M global brand and designed a crowdfunding campaign that raised $2.5M in 30 days.

Today his work sits where strategy, story, media, and technology meet — including hands-on, AI-integrated marketing. He holds a B.A. in Communications, cum laude, from Arizona State University.

Leadership philosophy

How I lead.

Start with the audience

Before the org chart, the budget, or the channel plan: who are we trying to reach, what do they already believe, and what would make them care? Every strong strategy I’ve been part of began there.

Build what compounds

I bias investment toward owned channels and durable assets — databases, media properties, communities — that keep producing after the spend stops.

Creative and commercial are one conversation

Great work that doesn’t move revenue isn’t finished, and a revenue plan without a story people want to repeat won’t scale. I hold teams to both.

Say what’s true

Clear attribution, honest numbers, and plain language — with boards, with partners, and with the public. Trust is the asset everything else depends on.

Personal

Beyond the résumé.

“I have spent my career studying why people care: what earns attention, builds trust, creates belonging, and turns an audience into a durable community. That curiosity extends beyond marketing into music, film, emerging technology, and the systems shaping culture. I still write and record because making things keeps strategy honest.”
